What is a May Chicken? Bjäre Chicken is much more than just an ordinary May Chicken

What is May Chicken?

You probably already knew that the Bjärefågels chicken is a May chicken? But it is much more than that. That is why it is called the Bjäre Chicken instead:

• The Bjäre chickens are raised in smaller groups. We have less than half the density in our stables compared to EU standards
• The good space allows our chickens to stay naturally healthy without antibiotics-like preparations or antibiotics.
• The Bjäre chickens eat a completely plant-based diet, with corn as the base grown in northwestern Skåne. The GMO-free feed also contains legumes, cereals, oat oil, vitamins and minerals to ensure the birds are well-nourished.
• Our chickens are raised on and around the Bjäre Peninsula. For the birds' sake and for environmental reasons, the maximum time for transportation is approximately one hour.
• At the turn of the year we switched the bird to the slowly growing Rowan Rangern. Our new bird is beautiful, fragile, lively and curious. Above all, it grows much more slowly. A chicken that is allowed to grow a little slower – at its own pace – also feels better.
• We always use two hands when handling our birds, both their body and their wings. That way we know that they are healthy and we ensure that they are well cared for both before and after transport.
• We do not add brine to unprocessed products: they contain 100 percent chicken.

Chicken that feels good, tastes good.
