We are now seeking an employee for the production at Bjärefågel in Torekow AB, located in Slättaröd outside Torekov. We are looking for a versatile person who will work with unloading animals from transport trailers, as well as cutting and slaughtering. In our premises, we slaughter, cut, process and pack our premium chicken, before delivering it to our customers who are wholesalers, retailers and restaurants.
We would like to see that you, the applicant, have previous experience in food production, but that is not essential. The most important thing is that you are interested in learning and that you are social, collaborative, forward-thinking, and responsible. A certificate of competence for the killing of poultry is a plus. Truck driving license A, B, and B-class driving license are required. You need a driver's license to get to work, because public transport does not operate at our workplace. To work with us, you need to be able to understand and speak Swedish, so that you can take in information about safety regulations and hygiene regulations at the workplace. We train you in the tasks at the workplace.
We usually work in teams, but this job also includes truck driving, which is a solo job. In the work teams, we help each other to maintain a high work pace, where we work carefully with a knife or using a machine. Today, our team consists of both men and women of different ages and with varying nationalities.
INFORMATION ABOUT THE SERVICE
Truck drivers
Before each slaughter, we unload our animals from the livestock transport, which is done with a small wheel loader equipped with special forks that lift the animals safely and carefully. Here, great respect for the animals and great precision are required. During the work week, other deliveries are handled with a conventional counterbalance truck.
Stitchers/Production Staff
You should not be afraid to work with your body and hands. A certain familiarity with working with a knife is preferable, but knife proficiency is not a requirement. We do not require any training as a cutter; the main thing is that you are curious about your job and are not afraid of new challenges. You should also be prepared to take on other work stations.
Slaughterers
Here, two people work at a high pace. At this workstation, we require a certificate of competence for the killing of poultry issued by the Swedish Board of Agriculture. If you do not already have it, we will train you (the training is only in Swedish). We currently slaughter two days a week, and there are heavy lifting tasks involved, so you need to be in good physical shape.
