About Bjärefågel
Responsible chicken farming since 1997
På familjeföretaget Bjärefågel i Torekow AB brinner vi för att föda upp kyckling av hög kvalitet i Sverige. Därför arbetar vi med ansvarsfull djurhållning och ett tydligt miljöarbete. År 2017 blev Bjärefågel den första kycklinguppfödaren i Sverige att klimatcertifieras av Svenskt Sigill. Vi följer certifieringens krav för att minska vår klimatpåverkan. Våra uppfödare är certifierade via både Svensk Fågel och Svenskt Sigill, och hela verksamheten granskas av ett ackrediterat, oberoende kontrollorgan.
Almost twice as much space in the stable
I Sverige finns regler för hur många kycklingar man får ha per kvadratmeter i stallet. Vi går längre – vi halverar nästan antalet kycklingar i stallet. Alltså får Bjärekycklingar nära dubbelt så mycket plats som en vanlig svensk kyckling.
Quality feed based on locally grown grain and maize
Det vegetabiliska fodret innehåller majs, baljväxter, spannmål, soja, vitaminer och mineraler. Det är ett foder som ger våra Bjärekycklingar goda förutsättningar att må bra. Fodret innehåller inte GMO, antibiotika eller koccidiostatika.
Slow growth and careful handling
Our Hubbard chickens grow slowly and are given good conditions throughout their rearing. We always handle our birds gently, lifting them with two hands by the body and wings to reduce the risk of injury and stress.
Breeding on smaller family farms
Bjärekycklingar föds upp av oss på Bjärefågel och av kontrollerade och certifierade uppfödare främst på Bjärehalvön och i södra Halland. Vi strävar efter att ha våra uppfödare så nära som möjligt för att undvika onödigt långa transporter.
The board
Claes Ohlsson, Chairman of the Board
Claes Ohlsson has many years of extensive experience in board work and sits on the boards of several companies. He is the CEO and part-owner of Intesa AB, where he works as a business consultant helping clients find strategies for business development. The company has broad experience with a variety of different companies and operations, from small, closely held companies to larger corporations. He is also involved with Eskilsminne IF and is the honorary chairman of the Skåne Football Association. Claes Ohlsson's background is in economics.
Ulf Andersson, Board member
Ulf Andersson is a former farmer and mechanical engineer who has worked abroad, primarily on many large offshore projects. As a farmer, he took over his father's farm and converted it to chicken farming. He has good knowledge of all matters concerning agriculture.
Per-Olof Ingemarsson, Board Member
Per-Olof Ingemarsson started the predecessor to Bjärefågel in 1986 when he began raising geese. Over the years, the company has evolved into today's Bjärefågel. As CEO, Per-Olof Ingemarsson constantly works with new visions to develop the company, both regarding Bjärefågel's special concept for chicken farming and to remain at the forefront of the changing food industry.
Martin Ingemarsson, board member
Martin Ingemarsson was only 14 years old when his older brother, Per-Olof, bought the first geese. With his great technical talent, he has assisted his brother with the functional aspects of running the business since his youth. In 2000, the brothers joined forces in earnest and formed a joint company. Today, Martin Ingemarsson works as head of maintenance and is on the management team for Bjärefågel's slaughterhouse.
Robin Lundgren, board member
Robin Lundgren has worked in both Denmark and Sweden in various roles as an auditor, controller, finance manager, vice CEO and as CEO of Bjärefågel from 2016-2018. Fundamentally, he is an economist with a master's degree in management control. Robin was CEO of Padelgo, which was later sold to MATCHi, and he subsequently founded Padelboard, which was also sold to MATCHi. Robin has since founded Liveday, of which he is also CEO.
